Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Review

Director: Mark Reeves
Starring: Andy SerkisJason ClarkeGary OldmanKeri RussellToby Kebbell, and Kodi Smit-McPhee

Humans have destroyed themselves with a man made virus and there are few survivors. Meanwhile Caesar leads a new generation of Apes in the Muir Woods. The humans are close to running out of fuel and must gain access to a hydro electric dam located in the woods so they can generate electricity again. In order to reach the dam they must  earn Caesar's trust. Caesars right hand man Koba was cruelly treated and experimented on by humans in a lab and will not accept a truce.

Firstly I must say the motion capture used to animate the apes was absolutely awesome. This is such an epic movie and so moving I found myself quite emotional throughout. The first installment was fantastic but they truly surpassed it with the sequel. Often when we watch a movie over two hours long we can complain about getting board or scenes being dragged out but with this movies fantastic script and tension that is kept throughout this will definitely be remembered as one of the best movies of the decade.
