The Equalizer Review

Director: Antoine Fuqua
Starring: Denzel Washington, Marton Csokas, Chloe Grace Moretz

In the Equalizer, Denzel Washington plays McCall, a man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when McCall meets Teri, a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by - he has to help her. Armed with hidden skills that allow him to serve vengeance against anyone who would brutalize the helpless, McCall comes out of his self-imposed retirement and finds his desire for justice reawakened. If someone has a problem, if the odds are stacked against them, if they have nowhere else to turn, McCall will help. He is The Equalizer.

Firstly, if you are going to this movie expecting it to be exactly the same as The Equalizer TV show of the 1980's then you are going to be disappointed. It is loosely based on the original but is a new take on the story.

Denzel is seriously bad ass in this movie and if you enjoy plenty of violence and brutal deaths then you will really enjoy it. There is a lot of debth to the character of Robert McCall and Denzel Washington did a great job playing him. I found the film exciting and yes it was predictable but was so action packed who cares!!

Two small negative points would be they did not have the original theme song which I missed and it was slightly longer than necessary but I really really enjoyed this movie and highly recommend going to see it.
