The Woman in Black: Angel of Death Review

Director: Tom Harper
Starring: Helen McCrory, Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox

We return to Eel Marsh House 40 years on from the original movie. A group of children are moved to the house for safety by their school teachers from London during World War 2 but they soon meet the fury of the woman in black.

Ok so I am just going to start by saying, its not as good as the first movie but very watchable and I quite enjoyed it. It was quite slow to start with but once it got into its stride it delivered better than I thought it would after the first half hour.

I thought it was cast well apart from Jeremy Irvine who just did not have any likability in my opinion. Phoebe Fox on the other hand really captured the tormented soul of Eve.

The Woman in Black 2 delivered well on the jump scares, which I love even though most critics moan about them. All in all, it's worth the watch but Hammer really need to up their game to regain their throne in the horror genre.
